The body of work, El Camino de Santiago, 2015 was created while on a pilgrimage, walking over 500 miles across Spain. The pilgrimage was both a spiritual experience and one of solitude. Starting at the border of France I followed the ancient path the early pilgrims walked to Santiago and beyond, ending at the Atlantic Ocean. This was a practice in being present in the everyday. I documented my daily steps from early morning to dusk, encompassing the environment around me. Capturing the mundane to the awe-inspiring landscape including details along the path, kept me present as I walked many miles. The work here, represents a glimpse of my experience from beginning to the end.
